Two men were injured in a knife fight on a Harlem street in broad daylight. A 63-year-old man and his 35-year-old rival were caught on video brandishing knives at each other on Frederick Douglass Boulevard and West 120th Street around 4:30 p.m. Passersby seemed unfazed by the violent altercation.

In the video, the two men can be seen aggressively attacking each other with their knives before the footage abruptly ends. The police arrived at the scene to find the older man with a stab wound on his left arm. He was promptly taken to Harlem Hospital and was reported to be in stable condition.

The younger man had sustained a stab wound to his neck and was quickly rushed to Mount Sinai Hospital Morningside, also in stable condition. Pictures taken at the scene depict one of the victims in a blood-stained shirt with a bandage around his neck as he was being loaded onto a stretcher by EMS.

The other victim had his shirt torn open, with a tourniquet applied by emergency responders to his arm, which was covered in blood. As of late Friday, neither of the men involved had been charged for their involvement in the violent altercation.

Knife fights and street brawls are unfortunately not uncommon in certain neighborhoods, leaving both victims and perpetrators at risk of serious injury or even death. It is essential for law enforcement to swiftly intervene in such situations to prevent further harm and ensure the safety of the community. Violence only begets more violence, and it is crucial for individuals to find peaceful ways to resolve conflicts and disagreements.
