Shengshu AI, a company that specializes in artificial intelligence (AI), recently showcased its text-to-video tool in Beijing. This tool, known as Vidu, is designed to compete with OpenAI’s Sora and aims to reduce production costs while maintaining consistency in generated videos.

During the event, Shengshu AI’s CEO Tang Jiayu highlighted the “reference to video” feature in Vidu, which ensures consistency in subjects, scenarios, and style across video clips. This feature addresses a common challenge faced by generative AI tools and is expected to streamline production processes and cut down costs.

Although the reference to video feature has been available since Vidu’s public release in July, the recent event emphasized its significance in the face of mounting competition in the AI video production industry. Companies like Kuaishou Technology and Zhipu AI have also introduced similar video-generation tools, such as Kling and Ying, respectively.

Kuaishou Technology, for instance, promoted the use of Kling in the film industry by collaborating with nine renowned Chinese directors to create short films. This demonstrates the growing trend of leveraging AI technologies to enhance video production processes in various sectors.

The advancements in AI-driven tools like Vidu offer promising opportunities for filmmakers, animators, and content creators to streamline their production workflows and reduce costs. By automating certain aspects of video generation and ensuring consistency in output, these tools can help professionals focus on creativity and storytelling rather than tedious production tasks.

As the demand for high-quality video content continues to rise across industries, the development of innovative AI tools like Vidu represents a significant step towards enhancing efficiency and competitiveness in the digital media landscape. By harnessing the power of AI, companies can unlock new possibilities for creating engaging and visually appealing videos while optimizing resource utilization and production timelines.
