Suffolk County District Attorney Ray Tierney is scheduled to provide new information about a victim of the Gilgo Beach murders during a press conference on Monday. The District Attorney’s office stated that the conference will also include updates on the ongoing investigations by the Gilgo Beach Homicide Investigation Task Force.

The press conference comes in the wake of suspected serial killer Rex Heuermann being charged in connection with the murders of Jessica Taylor and Sandra Costilla, in addition to the four women he was already charged with in 2023. Jessica Taylor’s remains were discovered in Manorville in 2003 and near Gilgo Beach in 2011, while Sandra Costilla was found in North Sea in 1993.

The identity of the victim to be discussed during the press conference on Monday has not been disclosed. Currently, there are three victims in the case who remain unidentified: a woman known as “Peaches” whose partial remains were found at various locations, Baby Doe found at Gilgo Beach in 2011, and Asian Doe whose remains were discovered at Gilgo in the same year.

The last formerly unidentified victim to be revealed was Karen Vergata, previously known as “Fire Island Jane Doe.” Her partial remains were found in 1996 on Fire Island and later at Tobay Beach. Authorities disclosed her identity months after Heuermann’s arrest, although no one has been charged with her murder.

Heuermann, a resident of Massapequa Park, was arrested in 2023 and charged with the murders of four women, including Melissa Barthelemy, Megan Waterman, Amber Lynn Costello, and Maureen Brainard-Barnes. These victims, collectively known as the “Gilgo Four,” were found at Gilgo Beach in 2011. Heuermann is also a suspect in the murder of Valerie Mack, whose remains were discovered in Manorville in 2000 and at Gilgo Beach in 2011.

The press conference on Monday is expected to shed light on new developments in the Gilgo Beach murder case, as authorities continue their efforts to bring justice to the victims and their families. Stay tuned for updates on this ongoing investigation.
