A 20-year-old gang member, Noah Green, has pleaded guilty to attempted murder, criminal possession of a weapon, and conspiracy for his involvement in a drive-by shooting that wounded two rival gang members outside the home of former U.S. Rep. Lee Zeldin in New York. The incident took place in 2022 in Shirley on Long Island. Fortunately, both men survived the shooting, although it was a traumatic experience for Zeldin’s family as his teenage daughters were home at the time.

Zeldin, who was running for governor of New York at the time, expressed his gratitude towards Suffolk County District Attorney Ray Tierney and law enforcement officials for their swift actions in ensuring the safety of his daughters and taking the necessary legal steps to hold Green accountable for his actions.

Green was arrested on October 31, 2022, with the weapon used in the shooting in his possession. He was later indicted along with 17 other defendants as part of an investigation into the No Fake Love gang, which was involved in various crimes such as shootings and carjackings. During his hearing, Green admitted his guilt when asked by Judge Anthony Senft and expressed a desire to move past the incident.

His attorney, Michael Alber, stated that Green is looking to put this matter behind him and never intended to be involved in such activities. Green is set to be sentenced to 12 years in prison and five years of supervised release at a hearing scheduled for October 15. This case serves as a reminder of the consequences of gang-related violence and the importance of swift legal action to ensure accountability for such crimes.
