A family of superstars had a night to remember at the kickoff of Beyoncé’s “Cowboy Carter Tour” at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, Calif. The concert took place on Monday night and featured surprise appearances by Beyoncé’s daughters, Blue Ivy, 13, and Rumi Carter, 7.

Blue Ivy, who had previously worked as a backup dancer on Beyoncé’s Renaissance World Tour in 2023, joined her famous mom on stage throughout the nearly 3-hour show. Meanwhile, Rumi made her debut stage appearance during Beyoncé’s performance of “Protector,” a song from the “Cowboy Carter” album featuring Rumi’s vocals.

In a heartwarming moment captured on social media, Rumi held Beyoncé’s hand, waved to the crowd with a big smile, and then gave her mom a big hug, as Blue Ivy stood behind them on stage. Beyoncé showered Rumi with praise, saying, “Beautiful job, baby.”

After the emotional “Protector” performance, a montage appeared on the screen featuring Beyoncé and her three children, including Rumi’s twin brother Sir, 7, whom she shares with husband Jay-Z. The concert kicked off with “American Requiem” and continued with a 36-song setlist that included hits like “Formation,” “Cuff It,” and “Crazy in Love.”

Throughout the show, Beyoncé wowed the audience with a spangled banner acapella performance, moments of flying through the audience on a horseshoe and car, and a color-changing LED dress during her performance of “Daughter.” Near the end of the night, Beyoncé expressed her gratitude to her fans, declaring, “I have the best fans in the world. I love you so much. We worked so hard to make this as perfect as we could for y’all. I hope y’all had fun.”

Beyoncé is set to perform four more shows at SoFi Stadium through May 9 before moving on to cities like Chicago, London, Atlanta, and her hometown of Houston. The tour will conclude in Las Vegas on July 26.

The tour announcement came on the heels of Beyoncé’s historic Album of the Year win at the 2025 Grammys in February. Accepting the award for “Cowboy Carter,” Beyoncé expressed her gratitude, saying, “It’s been many, many years. I just feel very full and very honored.”

Beyoncé’s previous tour grossed nearly $580 million across 39 cities, showcasing her immense popularity and talent. Blue Ivy, who has been making a name for herself as a performer, served as a backup dancer on several songs during the Renaissance Tour and even shared the stage with Beyoncé at the 2024 Christmas Day NFL halftime performance.

It’s clear that the Carter family is a force to be reckoned with in the entertainment industry, with Beyoncé leading the way and her talented daughters following in her footsteps. The “Cowboy Carter Tour” promises to be a memorable experience for fans around the world, as Beyoncé continues to captivate audiences with her electrifying performances and undeniable star power.
