Turkish officials ain’t really giving a clear answer on what exactly caused the death of a British mother who passed away during her vacation in Turkey. Beth Martin, a 28-year-old woman, started feeling sick on her flight from the UK to Turkey. She thought it was just a case of food poisoning at first. But soon after landing in Istanbul, things took a turn for the worse. Martin became “delirious” and had to be rushed to the hospital. She was on vacation with her husband, Luke, and their two kids at the time.
Sadly, Beth didn’t make it through the night. She died on April 28th, as reported by the Daily Mail. Luke Martin was not happy with the Turkish officials, claiming they were not very open with him and even suspected him of poisoning his wife. Eventually, he managed to get Beth’s body back to the UK. Once there, British coroners dropped a bombshell on Luke – Beth’s heart had been taken out of her body. The Turkish Ministry of Health stated that Beth died from “cardiac arrest due to multiple organ failure,” but didn’t provide many details on what caused it.
The Turkish government strongly denied the British coroners’ findings, stating that no surgical procedures were performed on Beth during the preliminary autopsy at the hospital in Istanbul. Now, Beth’s family is left wondering if the doctors at the Marmara University Pendik Education and Research Hospital missed something crucial or made a mistake by giving her penicillin, not knowing she was allergic to it. The hospital is under investigation following Beth’s tragic death. It might take up to six months for the coroners in England to figure out what led to Beth’s organs shutting down in the first place.
