A 70-year-old golfer got himself in a real pickle after being hit by a black SUV while enjoying a day on the links at a golf course in Chicago. The whole thing turned into a chaotic car chase, and the fairways quickly transformed into a makeshift freeway, as shown in some crazy video footage.

According to witnesses who spoke to ABC 7, the golfer was struck at Billy Caldwell Golf Course in Edgebrook by a black SUV driver who seemed to be in a rage. To make matters more interesting, a silver sedan driven by a golf course staffer was hot on the SUV’s tail, trying to catch up and maybe put an end to the madness. One golfer, Ed Waters, shared his account, saying, “The silver sedan starts pursuing the SUV, who’s just intent on doing hot laps around the course. He’s, like, honking at him, trying to pit-maneuver the guy.” It was like watching a real-life action movie unfold on the peaceful golf course.

As the chase continued, the SUV driver ended up hitting the golfer near the fifth hole before speeding away, leaving the poor man injured on the ground. Jim Wolfer, a neighbor who witnessed the aftermath, shared, “I come out, and I see this older gentleman laying right there in the grass, and two ladies attending, golfer ladies attending to him. So, I went out there, and he wasn’t moving. But when I got there, he opened up his eyes and he could speak.” Thankfully, help arrived soon after, with the cops showing up to arrest the reckless driver and assist the injured golfer. The incident shook up the calm atmosphere of the golf course in Edgewood, and the golfers were left in shock at the unexpected turn of events.
