A fire totally ruined a two-story house in Brooklyn, leaving three folks with minor injuries on May 16. The brave firefighters of FDNY stepped in and saved the day. It all went down at 419 Milford St. in East New York around 9:37 a.m. Smoke was billowing out from the first floor of the house when the fire squad arrived.

The fire was no match for Engine Company 225 and Tower Ladder 107 as they tackled it head-on with three hoselines. By 11:19 a.m., they had everything under control. Luckily, no one was left inside the building during the searches. The fire marshals are now on the case to figure out how it all started. One of the neighbors, Nelson Rodriguez, had nothing but praise for the firefighters’ quick response.

Now, I’m not really sure why this matters, but a cracked hydrant didn’t cause any delays in the operation. The fire even managed to extend to the first floor before they could contain it. Just goes to show how unpredictable these things can be. The residents ended up in the hospital with minor injuries, but it could have been a lot worse. Hats off to the firefighters for their hard work and dedication.
