The New York Giants missed a crucial opportunity to even their season record at 3-3 as they fell short against the Cincinnati Bengals with a final score of 17-7. Despite a strong defensive performance, highlighted by four sacks on Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow, the Giants’ offense struggled to capitalize on scoring opportunities throughout the game.

The Bengals took an early lead in the first quarter with a 47-yard touchdown scramble by Joe Burrow on a 3rd-and-18 play. Although the Giants managed to reach the Cincinnati 14-yard line on their second drive, a costly interception by Germaine Pratt halted their momentum and prevented them from putting points on the board.

In the third quarter, the Giants finally found the end zone at MetLife Stadium for the first time this season, thanks to a key pass interference call that set them up on the 1-yard line. However, their joy was short-lived as the Bengals quickly responded with a field goal to regain the lead.

Despite several opportunities to score, including a missed field goal by Greg Joseph and failed fourth-down conversions, the Giants were unable to mount a comeback in the closing minutes of the game. The Bengals sealed their victory with a 30-yard rushing touchdown by Chase Brown, extending their lead to 17-7.

Quarterback Daniel Jones completed 22 of 41 pass attempts for 205 yards with one interception and also led the team in rushing with 56 yards on 11 carries. Wide receiver Darius Slayton recorded 57 receiving yards on six receptions, while kicker Greg Joseph struggled with missed field goal attempts.

On the Bengals side, Joe Burrow threw for 208 yards and rushed for 55 yards and a touchdown, while Tee Higgins led the team with 77 receiving yards on seven receptions.

The loss drops the Giants’ season record to 2-4, leaving them with work to do in order to climb back into playoff contention. For more updates and news on the New York Giants, visit AMNY.com.
