Police in the Bronx are on the lookout for a moped operator who was involved in a hit-and-run collision that left a 3-year-old girl seriously injured. The incident took place on Friday afternoon on the sidewalk in front of 3041 Holland Ave. in Allerton.

According to reports, the moped rider was illegally operating his scooter on the sidewalk when he struck the young girl. Instead of stopping to help, the operator fled the scene, heading northbound on Holland Avenue. The girl was quickly taken to Jacobi Hospital by EMS and treated for minor injuries.

In an effort to track down the suspect, the NYPD released photos and video footage of the man they are seeking. Described as having a heavy build and a medium complexion, he was last seen wearing an orange jacket, black sweatpants, and black sandals while riding a blue scooter with black stripes.
