Police Seek Public’s Help in Identifying Suspect in Brutal Assault on MTA Bus Driver

The New York Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect involved in a violent assault on an MTA bus driver in the Bronx. The incident occurred on Tuesday, September 17th, at around 11:20 a.m. near East 226 Street and White Plains Road, within the 47th Precinct.

According to reports, a 34-year-old female MTA bus driver was parked at the location when an unidentified man approached the bus. The suspect boarded the bus, grabbed the driver, and repeatedly slammed her head against the bus partition. Following the assault, the individual fled the scene on foot, heading westbound on East 226 Street.

The victim suffered minor injuries in the attack and was taken by EMS to NYC Health and Hospitals/Jacobi for treatment. Thankfully, she is currently in stable condition. The suspect is described as a male with a medium complexion, standing approximately six feet tall. The NYPD has released images of the individual through the Department’s Crime Stoppers division.

Public Urged to Provide Information

Authorities are urging anyone with information about this assault to come forward.
