A man was stabbed near Madison Square Garden in New York City on Wednesday afternoon, following a morning incident where a tourist was slashed on the Upper West Side. The two incidents appear to be unrelated, according to authorities.
The stabbing took place around 4:32 p.m. on 34th Street and 8th Avenue, where the victim was involved in an argument with another man. The suspect ended up stabbing the victim three times in the right forearm, lower back, and right leg. The victim was taken to Bellevue Hospital for treatment and is expected to recover.
The suspect, described as wearing black sweatpants and a black hat, fled northbound on 8th Avenue. Police are still investigating the case and no arrests have been made yet.
In addition to this incident, there was also a report of a woman suffering from an overdose in the bathroom of a nearby McDonald’s. Emergency services had to navigate through the crime scene to transport her to a local hospital.
