Miley Cyrus is like totally coming in like a wrecking ball to shut down some rumors that have been swirling around lately. After some false gossip went around that Tish Cyrus, Miley’s mom, unfollowed her on Instagram, the 32-year-old singer decided to set the record straight on their relationship.

“I usually don’t bother with rumors, but me and my mama are like, super tight, so nothing could ever come between us,” Miley shared on her Instagram Stories last Saturday. “She’s like my BFF. You know, like a lot of moms, she’s not really great with her phone and accidentally unfollowed me — it’s all just a simple mistake, nothing to see here, folks.”

Miley went on to talk about her relationship with her dad, Billy Ray Cyrus, from the “Hannah Montana” days. She mentioned, “My dad and I have had our ups and downs over the years.”

“Now that I’m in my thirties, family is like, my number one priority,” Miley added. “I’m just chill knowing that we’ve worked things out and time has healed a lot. I’m grateful for the love and good health that flows through my fam.”

Tish, who is 57, also addressed the whole unfollowing situation on X, writing, “I have no clue how that happened, but it’s fixed now!” She added, “I would never intentionally unfollow Miley, we’re as close as we’ve always been.”

A day before Miley’s post, Billy Ray, who is 63, shared a pic of himself with Miley, her boyfriend Max Morando, and Braison, who is 31, on his farm in Tennessee. He captioned the Friday Instagram post, “Happy Birthday Braison!!!!!”

Tish and Billy Ray were married from 1993 to 2022 and have kids Miley, Braison, and Noah. The country singer also adopted Tish’s two kids, Brandi and Trace, and has a son named Christopher from a previous relationship.

After the split, Tish married Dominic Purcell in 2023, while Billy Ray had a short-lived marriage with Firerose from 2023 to 2024. Now he’s dating Elizabeth Hurley.

Rumors were swirling about a rift between Billy Ray and his kids after Miley didn’t mention him in her 2024 Grammy acceptance speech.

In 2024, Miley talked about her relationship with Billy Ray on David Letterman’s Netflix show, “My Next Guest Needs No Introduction.” She said that her dad gave her guidance on what to do and what not to do, but also mentioned, “I also inherited the narcissism from my father.”

“Without my dad, I wouldn’t be who I am today. He’s guided me through a lot,” Miley said. “A lot of my perspective on life comes from him.”

Miley also said, “Honestly, my mom is my hero.”

In January, Trace, who is 36, hinted at some issues between his dad and his siblings. He called out Billy Ray for his performance at Donald Trump’s Liberty Ball.

Billy Ray had some technical difficulties during his set and ended up singing an a cappella version of “Achy Breaky Heart.” Trace wrote an open letter to Billy Ray on Instagram, expressing his concerns about his dad.

Alluding to his mom and sisters, Trace wrote, “Me and the girls have been genuinely worried about you for years but you’ve pushed all of us away. Noah has desperately wanted you to be a part of her life and you haven’t been there for her.”

But shortly after, Noah praised her dad for releasing new music. “So proud of my Dad’s INCREDIBLE new single LOST with my good, old friend [Sam Tinnesz] and [Tommee Profitt],” the singer wrote in February with two red heart emojis.

Overall, things seem to be getting back on track for the Cyrus family, with love and music bringing them together. It’s clear that family is the most important thing for Miley and her loved ones.
