Meghan got the “HRH” title back in 2018 when she married Prince Harry and became the Duchess of Sussex. Harry was already born with that title, lucky guy. But now, it seems like William is not having it anymore, according to some new report that’s out there.
The whole drama started when Meghan posted a letter on Instagram from the First Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine, and he called her “Your Royal Highness.” Then, there was this podcast host who shared a photo of a gift basket Meghan gave her, and it had a note saying it was from “HRH The Duchess of Sussex.” A bit extra, if you ask me.
Even though Meghan and Harry agreed not to use the “HRH” title when they stepped back from their royal duties in 2020, they still technically kept the title. But now, it looks like there’s some confusion about the whole deal, known as the Sandringham Agreement.
It seems like King Charles, William’s dad, isn’t really up for a fight over this whole “HRH” situation. But William, on the other hand, seems pretty set on stripping Harry and Meghan of their titles when he takes the throne. Drama, drama, drama.
Some former palace insider is spilling the tea, saying that Meghan and Harry are not following the agreement they made when they left their royal roles. According to this source, they were supposed to never use the “HRH” title ever again, for anything. Oops.
The royal family had made it clear back when Meghan and Harry left that they wouldn’t be using their “HRH” titles anymore. But Meghan’s recent use of the title has ruffled some feathers, especially in William’s inner circle. Looks like trouble in paradise.
