R.A.I.N.’s Mission and Services

Since its inception, R.A.I.N. has been dedicated to meeting the interim needs of the community through a variety of services. The agency’s continuum of care includes a range of programs tailored to seniors and individuals with disabilities. Among the services offered are full-service neighborhood senior centers at 12 locations in the Bronx and one in Manhattan, home-delivered meals for homebound elderly, transportation services, assistance with benefits and entitlements, case management, and elder abuse services.

One of R.A.I.N.’s standout initiatives is the Cucina Dolores program, a community-based mobile meals service for homeless and hungry individuals in the South Bronx. In collaboration with the Bob and Dolores Hope Foundation, this program provides vital support to those in need, reflecting R.A.I.N.’s commitment to serving the most vulnerable members of the community.

Residential Housing Projects and Home Health Care Program

In addition to its community-based programs, R.A.I.N. sponsors two residential housing projects that provide affordable apartments for low-income seniors. These projects offer a safe and supportive living environment for elderly individuals in need of housing assistance.

Furthermore, R.A.I.N.’s Home Health Care Program delivers in-home attendant and personal care services to elderly, disabled, and homebound individuals of all ages. This program ensures that individuals receive the necessary support to maintain their independence and quality of life in the comfort of their own homes.
