Rex Heuermann, the alleged Gilgo Beach serial killer, will have a court date in Suffolk County for a pretrial hearing. He is facing charges for the murders of six women over several decades. His lawyer is working to have the cases tried separately. He has been in jail since his arrest in 2023.
In addition to the four victims known as the Gilgo Four, Heuermann is also accused of killing a woman in the Hamptons in 1993 and another woman in Manorville. The grand jury also charged him with the murders of Jessica Taylor and Sandra Castilla. The investigation is ongoing to determine if he is connected to the deaths of five other victims found in the Gilgo area.
Recently, a composite sketch of an unidentified Asian male victim found in 2010 was released by investigators. They have also identified Karen Vergata, previously known as Fire Island Jane Doe. The task force is looking into the murders of Peaches and her daughter, whose remains were found in different locations.
