Bronx detectives are still on the hunt for the suspect responsible for a tragic incident that occurred last week. A man lost his life after being shot dead while sitting on his walker outside a building on May 18, 2025. The NYPD recently shared photos of the individual they are seeking in connection with the deadly shooting that took place near the corner of East 188th Street and Marion Avenue in Fordham Heights, within the 46th Precinct’s jurisdiction, around 6:45 p.m. that day.

The preliminary investigation revealed that an unidentified person, sporting a spotted orange sweatshirt, approached the location and proceeded to pull out a firearm, firing multiple shots. Following the barrage of bullets, the gunman fled the scene on foot, heading eastbound on East 188th Street. One of the bullets struck 57-year-old Kevin Jennings, who was seated on his walker outside the building. Tragically, he was pronounced dead shortly after being rushed to St. Barnabas Hospital. Another bullet hit a 34-year-old woman in her left leg, though she was taken to the same hospital in stable condition.

This marks the second fatal shooting involving a stray bullet in the Bronx within a week. Just days prior, 16-year-old Evette Jeffrey lost her life when a 14-year-old boy opened fire during what authorities described as a “schoolyard fight” near the Bronx College and Career Preparatory High School. While the Bronx has seen a decrease in shootings overall this year, the recent stray bullet incidents have raised concerns among both residents and law enforcement, especially given the involvement of teenage individuals in some of these cases. If you have any information regarding the May 18 shooting or the whereabouts of the suspect, you are urged to contact Crime Stoppers at 800-577-TIPS or submit tips online at crimestoppers.nypdonline.org.
