Wollman Rink in Central Park is gearing up for its exciting season opening on Oct. 26. The rink will be welcoming visitors with a special celebration all weekend long. This is the perfect opportunity to dust off your skates and enjoy the winter wonderland in the heart of New York City.

To kick off the season in style, Wollman Rink will be offering free admission, complimentary lessons, live performances, and fall-themed activities on Oct. 26-27. Skating will begin at 12 p.m. both days, with a special live performance by artistic figure skaters to entertain the crowd. Additionally, on Oct. 26, there will be a raffle for those in costume to win family season skating passes.

General Manager Bret Pidgeon expressed his excitement for the two-day celebration, stating that there will be upgraded igloos and expanded skate school offerings this season. This ensures that visitors of all experience levels can enjoy the magic of Central Park in the winter.

NYC Department of Parks & Recreation Commissioner Sue Donoghue emphasized the importance of making wintertime recreation accessible to all New Yorkers. The rink will offer free and discounted tickets through programs like Culture Pass and IDNYC.

In addition to the skating fun, visitors can enjoy dining options at The Café and Melba’s in the Park. The Igloo Village will also be back this season, offering cozy and upgraded spaces that can be reserved during skating hours. These igloos come with heaters and signature catering options for a truly special experience.

For those looking to improve their skills on the ice, registration is now open for Wollman Rink’s Skate School. Lessons are available for all ages and skill levels multiple days a week. The Youth Hockey Program is also accepting sign-ups for young aspiring hockey players.

Tickets for general admission range from $15 to $38 for adults, $10 for children and seniors. Skate rentals are available for $12, and a non-skating adult chaperone can accompany a child for free. Season passes can be purchased for $275 for adults and $100 for seniors and children, providing unlimited access throughout the season.

Wollman Park Partners are committed to expanding the rink access program, ensuring that everyone has the opportunity to enjoy this winter activity. Reduced pricing will be available through Culture Pass online and ID NYC at the box office.
